RedView Client Portal v1.2.3 now available

RedView Version 1.2.3 is now the current production release of the product.

Improvements and new features contained in this release include:
  • The ability to associate a colour scheme and set of presentation standards (called "themes") to the portal so that it can be consistent with corporate marketing and presentation guidelines. A number of sample themes are provided but specific requirements can be built upon request.
  • The ability to build different brandings for the site depending upon the user. A branding covers the logo used, the title of the site and the theme.
  • The inclusion of history and audit facilities of comments entered by the customer and emailed to the firm.
  • Password rules have been changed based upon client feedback that more complex passwords were not being retained by the client and hence not being accessed. It is now possible to retain a simple 7 character password rather than requiring the need for special characters.
  • Options to suppress the auto create of new users and emails to new users so that this process can be handled manually with the client
  • When a user has only a single matter published the initial presentation is the full page view rather than a list of one matter
  • An option to copy emails to the firm's system administrator if auto emails are used are used on the creation of new users
  • The performance of the initial load of the summary list has been improved so that large matter lists load significantly faster.
  • The implementation of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for greater security of information. (Existing user of the product should note that their current clients will need to be advised of change of access URL to implement this feature).
The new Brands screen under Settings
Work on v1.3 has now commenced with a goal of providing further functionality to provide information to the client and inclusion of more information in the summary list.

What is RedView Client Portal?


RedView is Red Rain’s mobility and collaboration platform for the legal profession. RedView Client Portal is the component of the platform that allows a firm’s clients and associates to access their matter information and documents via a web browser, tablet or smart phone.
The Internet and mobile devices have changed the way a law firm does business.  Companies, and increasingly private clients, want to be able to track and monitor the progress of their legal matters wherever and whenever they are because it is cheaper and more convenient to do so.

Redview Client Portal is ideal for law firms with the foresight and vision to want to re-define how law firms and clients can work together. It is a cloud based tool that allows you to easily publish matter information and documents so that your clients can obtain the information they need, on demand, using the Internet. Working in this way makes it easier for the clients to work with the firm, saving administrative costs and enabling them to make decisions quicker than would otherwise be the case.
Clients today also rely on their mobile phone and/or tablet device.   The Client Portal iPad and iPhone modules further extend the information access capability. For example, a private client with a short term matter may be given access via the iPhone. A business partner manager where you work on multiple matters may be given access via the iPad and a large corporate client may use the browser module.
